Leslie Burr Howard took home 3rd place and $50,000 at Holiday & Horses Grand Prix CSI-W 2.

Date

Leslie Burr-Howard aboard The Utah Group’s Utah placed 3rd in the $50,000 Holiday and Horses Grand Prix on November 30.

With a clear round in 38.11 seconds, Burr-Howard, an endorser of Finish Line® Horse Products, and Utah beat out dozens of other competitors for an impressive finish. The decorated rider solidified third over 10 rounds at the Federation Equestre Internationale World Cup qualifying event, which was hosted by the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

The first-place winners were Laura Kraut (USA) and Cedric, who got off to a fast start that was difficult to overtake. Finish Line® Horse Products applauds Burr-Howard for her accomplishment!

Burr-Howard may be a wonder to watch, but she didn’t exactly come from an equestrian household.

“My parents had no experience with horses and I was not brought up around horses, but fortunately for me I was fearless – I loved speed and loved a challenge,” the rider shared on her website.

She taught herself the basics of saddling and racing, and would go on to achieve Olympic gold. At the Holiday and Horses Grand Prix, Burr-Howard did not shy away from speed, coming in at under 40 seconds.
