This question is usually asked about various products used in competition or races. The answer is NO. Nothing manufactured and sold by FINISH LINE® will test positive in any race or show jurisdiction in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, South America, England or Saudi Arabia. Do not use the U.S. Version of Air Power™ in Japan; instead use the Air Power™ made for the Japanese market.
- CAN I BUY DIRECT?

- WILL MY HORSE EAT IT?
This question is asked about our feed supplements all the time. After all, if a horse won't eat the supplement, what good are it's benefits. FINISH LINE® has researched this aspect of supplementation for many years. We were the first company to introduce the apple flavored electrolyte, over 20 years ago (See our APPLE-A-DAY™Electrolyte page). In fact, we have included this unique apple taste in most of our powdered supplements. IRON POWER™ and FLUID ACTION® have even more of our appealing apple flavor in their formulas to stimulate your horse's appetite. - WHAT IS FLUID ACTION®?
FLUID ACTION® is a high glucosamine supplement formulated to lubricate the cartilage and synovial fluid in your horses' joints. FINISH LINE® extensively researched and developed this product for three years. We are pleased with our final formulation and its great benefits.

FLUID ACTION® lubricates joints to show you a younger active horse again. Glucosamine increases the amount of synovial fluid. HA (or Sodium Hyaluronate) increases the viscosity and viscoelastic properties, to make a better cushion. - WHY DOESN'T FLUID ACTION® CONTAIN CHONDROITIN SULFATE?
The latest research shows that chondroitin sulfate is too large a molecule to be absorbed effectively. With molecular weights up to 30 thousand, chondroitin molecules are as much as 300 times larger than glucosamine. If any chondroitin does get absorbed into the intestinal tract, it is now considered by many researchers to be too large to migrate into the chondrocyte cell, which is where cartilage generation takes place. Since both chondroitin and glucosamine are expensive ingredients, FINISH LINE® decided to concentrate on glucosamine, which is up to 98% absorbable. Both of these supplements should be top-dressed on your horses' favorite feed. Follow feeding amounts on bottle. Some people give the product with an oral syringe, but this is rarely necessary.
- WHY DOES APPLE-A-DAY™ COST MORE?
Usually, it doesn't. Most other electrolytes have sugar in them. Other manufacturers put sugar in their product so that the horse will eat it. Our unique apple flavor means that we do not have to add sugar because your horse will eat APPLE-A-DAY without all those fillers. Once they put sugar in their product, it fluffs it up and they recommend you feed 2 ounces a day of theirs. APPLE-A-DAY™ has a daily dose of only one (1) ounce per day. - SHOULD I DILUTE AIR POWER™?
No. AIR POWER™ is made to work most effectively full strength, as is.
Brigham Young University tested Air Power and had this to say: "This product offered the symptomatic relief we were searching for. When horses were heard coughing they were given a dose of Air Power and invariably would stop coughing and were able to finish the working day. Usually one administration was all that was required."
- SHOULD I GIVE AIR POWER™ IN THE FEED?
Many people do, but AIR POWER™ is designed to be given by oral syringe and applied down the horse's sore throat.
- HOW DOES JC'S X-TIE UP™ WORK?
Good question. Tying up can occur from a wide variety of causes and no one really knows the whole story on this yet. As for JC'S X-TIE UP™, this product was discovered over 50 years ago by the third generation of horsemen in the Howe family - John C. Howe. Hence the "JC's". While we cannot tell you how it works on a molecular level, we do have sufficient anecdotal evidence to guarantee the product's performance. If you ever purchase JC'S X-TIE UP™ and it fails to perform, we will refund your purchase price directly, no matter where you bought it.
- WHY ARE YOUR POULTICES CALLED CLAY?
About 1992, the FDA was considering reclassifying poultices as a drug. FINISH LINE® did not want to have this reclassification nor have to manufacture these products as drugs, since the increased costs associated with this would have raised the selling price exorbitantly thus forcing us to stop making it. - WHY IS BLASTER™ CONCENTRATED AND WHY SHOULD I PREPARE THE SOLUTION?
The Blaster™ concentrate (4oz) is diluted into 1 quart (32oz) cool water in a spray bottle. Finish Line manufactures Blaster™ as a concentrate for 2 reasons: 1) ALL essential oil based insect repellants slowly lose potency due to loss of volatile components. Finish Line solved this dilemma by formulating a concentrate, which you dilute when you are ready to use it. The solution you make is as fresh as it can get. 2) You save money by not paying for the shipping of water and by using smaller plastic containers.
- DOES BLASTER™ CONTAIN PYRETHRINS?
No. Pyrethrins have some toxicity issues that essential oils do not have. Following is a paragraph on pyrethrin toxicity... Still want to spray it around yourself and your horse?- Inhaling high levels of pyrethrum may bring about asthmatic breathing, sneezing, nasal stuffiness, headache, nausea, incoordination, tremors, convulsions, facial flushing and swelling, and burning and itching sensations (102). The most severe poisonings have been reported in infants, who are not able to efficiently break down pyrethrum. The lowest lethal oral dose of pyrethrum is 750 mg/kg for children and 1,000 mg/kg for adults (102).
- "Animals exposed to toxic amounts may experience tongue and lip numbness, nausea, and diarrhea. Symptoms may also include incoordination, tremors, convulsions, paralysis, respiratory failure, and death. Pyrethroids can cause two quite different responses at near lethal doses in rats; aggressive sparring and a sensitivity to external stimuli progressing to tremors is the one response and pawing and burrowing behavior, and salivation leading to chronic seizures is the other (105). Human response to these two different types of pyrethroids has not yet been evaluated. Recovery from serious poisoning in mammals is fairly rapid. Rats and rabbits are not affected by large dermal applications (96, 102). On broken skin, pyrethrum produces irritation and sensitization, which is further aggravated by sun exposure."

- CAN I USE BLASTER™ ON MY CATS AND DOGS?
Finish Line has seen and received reports of excellent performance on dogs. Cats, however, may react badly to Teatree oil, for reasons unknown, so do not use on cats.
